Author Solutions’ Kevin Wiess Discusses Pearson Deal

Last month the publishing world was abuzz over the acquisition of Author Solutions, by Pearson, which placed the giant in self-publishing services under the Penguin Group.

Penguin with such a famous brand and legacy for publishing high quality books from big name authors aligning itself with a very big player in the indie publishing game came as a shock to many.

People from all sides of the debate came out in force inundating the blogosphere with posts from out right hating, to prognostications on the future of publishing.

Huff Post contributor, C.M. Rubin, had the pleasure of interviewing President and CEO Author Solutions, Kevin Weiss.  One of the standout comments from the Mr. Weiss concerned the growth of the industry over the last five years.

This is certainly true, but is it an indication of where the industry is heading?
